Owing to a cancellation there is a single room available on the Club’s trip to Llangollen in North Wales in early April 2024. Here we can enjoy mountains, hills, waterfalls and more gentle walks, such as along the Llangollen Canal – including a walk over the legendary Pontcysyllte Aquaduct. Llangollen is on the Offa’s Dyke Path and close to the National Trust’s Chirk Castle. A short, but steep, climb takes you to the ruined castle above the town, providing wonderful views.
We will leave Bottisham by coach on Friday morning and stop at the National Trust‘s extensive Attingham Estate near Shrewsbury for the afternoon, including a lunch break, exploration of the house, gardens and estate. There will be a led walk for those who wish.
Afterwards we will travel on to The Hand Hotel in Llangollen, where we will have bed, breakfast and evening meals for the next two days. The hotel will provide a packed lunch for both Saturday and Sunday.
We plan to offer A, B and C walks on both days, and aim to leave Llangollen late on Sunday afternoon, with a stop at a Service Station for a meal break on the way home. Offers of leaders of B and C walks to Helen, please. Suggested routes can be provided.
The cost is £295 per person for a double or twin room, £325 pp for a single room, and £365 for single occupancy of a double room. This includes the coach and all gratuities.
