ELSENHAM

Henham Road (roadside parking), Elsenham, CM22 6DG

From Cambridge take A1307 then A11 to Stump Cross.  Take B1383 through Littlebury and Newport.  After Newport take 2^nd turn on left to Elsenham (and Henham).  Keep straight on to Elsenham (do not turn left for Henham)  In Elsenham go across level crossing round to left on Station Road to roundabout.  Turn left along High Street.  After passing Crown pub on left (opposite Hall Road and Elsenham Cross), park on left side of Henham Road (B1051) next to or near red brick wall.  I am happy to offer a lift from Fulbourn to anyone not already sharing a car.

Walk is 10.7 miles, 6.7am and 4pm departing at 10.00.  Sandwiches will be eaten on village green or in churchyard opposite pub where we are able to buy a drink.  This walk goes through a farm open to the public, across a golf course with football golf, to a church at coffee time, past alpacas, through several woods and along a disused railway line called the Gin and Toffee Line.  On the recce in March some paths were muddy and some were hard so I would recommend boots rather than walking shoes.
