We will meet in Anglesey Abbey car park, Quy Road, Lode CB25 9EJ, just by the entrance to the overflow car park. You can leave Cambridge by Newmarket Road; when you reach the big roundabout with the A14, follow the signs to Stow Cum Quy and then to Lode. Before you reach Lode, Anglesey Abbey is a turning to the left. Please note no National Trust card will be necessary as we will not be entering the Abbey grounds. After all the rain we have had, part of the route may be quite muddy, so boots and walking sticks will be useful.

We will head off from the car park to Lode Mill and then cross the bridge over Quy Water. We then walk along by the side of the Water for about 2 miles. This path can get muddy. I will recce the walk a couple of days before and adjust the route if this path is too muddy. At the end of this path, we will turn sharp right onto a track over fields through avenues of trees and pleasant countryside, which will take us back to Lode Mill. The distance is 4.2 miles. There is a possible short cut, which would make a walk of about 3.5 miles. There will be a coffee break in the fields and when we get back to the car park, there is the chance to use the Anglesey Abbey café (accessible without a membership card), although on Easter Sunday, by midday the cafe is likely to be quite full.
