CRC C walk Dullingham – Stetchworth – Marmer’s Wood − Cross Green (with shorter version to walk back from Stetchworth on pavement)
Start 10.30 The Boot, 18 Brinkley Road, Dullingham CB8 9UW
Directions From Cambridge take the A1307 as far as FourWentways roundabout then left along the A11. Take A1304 slip road signed Newmarket and go over level crossing at Six Mile Bottom. Continue on the A1304 for about 2 miles before turning right on a side road signed Dullingham, next to a dark wooden fence. Go over level crossing and through village along Station Road. At the crossroads in Dullingham, turn right for 100 yards to The Boot on your right – parking at the side of the pub.
(Alternatively, in Six Mile Bottom, just past the Spar shop, turn right at the crossroads along Brinkley Road for about 3 miles. At the junction with the B1052, turn left and follow road into Dullingham – The Boot is on your left.)
Walk From the pub, walk towards the church, left towards the Dew Pond and Maltings, then left down Church Lane before turning right towards the crossroads at Cross Green. Turn left along Tea Kettle Lane then right towards the Ellesmere Centre for a short break. (Seats and loos available) (Those who want a shorter walk can retrace route to pub – approx 35 mins each way.)
Leave the EC, turn left on road to 2nd footpath sign on right then grassy path towards Marmer’s Wood, turning right over a footbridge, then right again along another grassy track. Cross the bridleway, up 3 steps to a footbridge then left along a footpath, turning right at the bridleway to Cross Green. Either follow a permissive path by the telegraph post across a field then along paths to the church, or turn right then left to walk on pavement to Dullingham turning left at crossroads to the pub.
