CRC 2021 AGM report

It was great to see so many CRC members come along to the 2021 AGM, held ‘in person’ at St James Church in Cambridge. After a difficult year, our regular walks have resumed, although we are for the present sticking to publicising them via our website and emails, rather than a 4-month printed programme.

Thanks were given by our President Jenny to all Club officers. New Committee posts include Graham, who has taken over the critical Treasurer’s post, Barbara, who is the new Sunday C walks’ Programme Secretary and Anne De.

Club life membership has been awarded to outgoing Treasurer Jim, outgoing Sunday C Secretary Penny and out-going Lakes’ week organiser Susan.

Finally, on hearing the news that Club members Janet & Roger M are retiring from their long-held posts as Ramblers’ Footpath Secretaries for South Cambridgeshire, the meeting gave ‘an ovation’ to them. Our local footpaths would be in a much worse state without their attention and action over decades.

Following the formal business meeting Steven gave a very interesting talk on the opportunities 2020 and 2021 have provided in giving time for ‘slow walks’ and his awareness of our environment. The photos Steven has managed to take of butterflies and orchids in our local area and further afield are fantastic – and all with a mobile phone!
