Wednesday B Morning Walks: Cheverly rec and Wandlebury

General walk information:

BAM walks are between 5 ½ and 6 ½ miles and walked at a pace of about 3 miles/hr. We begin at 10.00 prompt (unless otherwise stated) and usually finish between 12.30-1.00 pm. There are two walks available each week. Please let the leader know you are coming by sending them a text (or call). We hope the number of walkers will be 12 or less and at the leader’s discretion. We do not stop for lunch but there is normally a short break for a drink etc.

Walk A: Cheverly Rec

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: From Newmarket clock tower take B1063 Road heading to Cheveley, then at the crossroads in Cheveley turn right onto the High Street.  Carry onto the High Street and about quarter of a mile you see a high brick wall continue and turn right into the Recreation Ground.

Walk B: Wandlebury

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: The walk begins in from Worts Causeway (layby at the back of the Beach wood. CB22 3FB Beechwoods | Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs & Northants (wildlifebcn.org).  We will walk along the Roman Road into Wandlebury and return via the cycle path and Babraham Road PNR.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.

Please text the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of the text! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted.

No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
