We meet in the Trumpington Park & Ride car park (CB2 9FT) at the far westerly end in Area 4, in time to set off at 10am through the new estate, starting from Ploughman Way. If you wish to join the walk please phone Dieter on 01223 527763 with your name and mobile/landline number, for ‘Test & Trace’ purposes – there is no limit on numbers. My mobile number on the day is 07445 807650.
The walk is about 4 miles long, passing around the pleasant, grassy Trumpington Meadows. We then cross the M11 and continue through an area where many young trees have been planted, before we reach the River Cam for a coffee stop. We continue along the river, bordered by willows, and return by a different route. Paths are mainly grassy, but possibly muddy in places. It’s surprising how little noise of the M11 one can hear there.
In line with Government guidance for ‘Test & Trace’, everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details, which will be held for 21 days and then deleted. You should not come on the walk if you feel even slightly ill.
Please bring a face-covering and hand sanitiser in case needed, and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. It is still advisable to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk where possible.
More details relating to taking part in and leading Club walks in a ‘Covid-19’ environment are posted on the CRC website, under ‘Members’.
