The walk starts from the car park at West Stow country park.

From Cambridge take the A14 towards Bury St. Edmunds.  Branch off on the A11 at junction 38.  Continue to Barton Mills roundabout.  Take 4th exit A1101 to Bury St Edmunds and Anglo Saxon village.  Continue through Icklingham.  Take left turn to West Stow – brown Anglo Saxon village sign.  Follow signs to Anglo Saxon village.   Take right turn into West Stow country park.

There is a two pound parking charge.

The walk is a figure of 8.  The morning is 6.5 miles going along the Lark Valley path and through the grounds of Culford School.  The afternoon is 4.25 miles and is through West Stow country park and into the King’s Forest.

There are picnic tables for packed lunch in the country park.  The café is being taken over by Costa so drinks will be available.
