C Group replacement ramble 22nd March 2023:
As Rod and Merle’s walk has had to be postponed (too muddy and slippery after all the recent rain),there is a last-minute mud-free replacement. Meet at Oakington Garden Centre and walk on the old Longstanton Road (now a paved path, so no mud and no traffic) to the edge of Longstanton. At the Longstanton end, have a brief look round St Michael’s Church (old, small and thatched) have a breather, then walk back the same way. The walk is 3.2 miles in total, but those who wish for a shorter walk can turn round and retrace their steps at any point. Set off at 10.30am from the garden centre car park – ample free parking.

The garden centre has a cafe (The Olive Tree) which is situated in a separate building. Go through the garden centre to the back and it’s on the left-hand side in the far corner. It serves coffee/tea, cake and modest lunches (jacket potatoes, toasties, etc). The toilets are inside the cafe. Let me know if you are coming Liz
