Wednesday B All-day walk – Fowlmere and Thriplow

Walk length: Approximately 7.5 miles (AM – 4+ miles, PM – 3+ miles)
Walk details: It is a circular walk to see the Daffodils in Thriplow. It is approximately 7 1/2 miles, 4+ am , 3+ pm on good tracks and paths or quiet roads with short stretches on the footpath along the A505. There may be muddy patches after heavy rain. No stiles . The coffee stop is on Thriplow Green where there is ample seating and a small but well stocked shop which sells fresh coffee.
Meeting place and parking: The walk starts from Fowlmere church, High Street Fowlmere SG 8 7SU. Please park in Fowlmere and assemble at church at 10:15.
Directions from Cambridge: You can get to Fowlmere by taking the A10 to Harston and then a left turn on to B1368 (London Road) to Newton and continue on to Fowlmere. Alternatively, you can travel down the M11, take the A505 (Junction 10) past the Imperial War Museum, then a right turn to Thriplow (also signposted to the recycling centre). In Thriplow, turn left and follow road to Fowlmere.
Lunch arrangements: The kitchen at The Green Man in Thriplow is closed on Wednesdays.so lunch is at the ‘Officers’ Mess’ cafe, Duxford Camp. No beer! There are picnic tables outside for dogs and picnickers. No covered area . No dogs in cafe.
