This week we will be exploring the highways and byways of Burwell.
We will meet at 10:20 for a 10:30 departure. Parking is in the car park at the Gardiner Memorial Hall (CB25 0HD). From the Quy roundabout take the B1102 past Anglesey Abbey, through Swaffham Bulbeck and Swaffham Prior to Burwell. Pass the church on the left and the Five Bells on the right and the car park is on the right just past the bollard. There is a brown sign.
Most of the walk is on paved paths but it may be a bit muddy when we walk beside Burwell Lode. The total distance is about two and half miles.
We can stop for refreshments at the delightful Village Green cafe which serves a tempting range of sandwiches and cakes. This is most of the way through the walk but parking is tricky round there so that’s why we will park at the Memorial Hall. They have offered to reserve a table for us so please could you let us know if you would like to eat by noon on Tuesday.
