Wednesday B morning walks-Boxworth or Wilburton

September 1, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

General walk information:

BAM walks are between 5 ½ and 6 ½ miles and walked at a pace of about 3 miles/hr. We begin at 10.00 prompt (unless otherwise stated) and usually finish between 12.30-1.00 pm. There are two walks available each week. Please let the leader know you are coming by sending them a text (or call). We hope the number of walkers will be 12 or less and at the leader’s discretion. We do not stop for lunch but there is normally a short break for a drink etc.

See full program for  Sept/OCT

Date:1st September

Walk A: Boxworth

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: Beginning at the Golden Ball pub CB23 4LY. The landlady is happy for us to park at the far end of her car park, and even happier if you tell her, you are there and promise to call in for a drink after the walk. There is other parking around the village Highstreet but please avoid blocking the route of the Bin lorry. From Cambridge. Leave A14 at junction 28 for Cambridge services, or approach from A428 leaving at Camborne and heading towards Knapwell.

Group size: Up to 12

Mileage: About 6 miles

Leader’s name and mobile number: Carol (07968491480)

Walk B: Wilburton and Haddenham

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: Meet and park behind St Peter’s Church Wilburton CB69RQ. This is varied walk on paths with a little road. Some paths can be overgrown, so it is best to dress appropriately and bring a stick if you have one. I would not advise sandals or shorts.

Group size: Up to 12

Mileage: About 6

Leader’s name and mobile number: Esther (07833 3732933)

Please note these additional requirements:

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.

Please text the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of the text! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted. The maximum number of people allowed on any walk is 30.

No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.

More details related to taking part in and leading Club walks in a Covid-19 environment are posted on the CRC website, under ‘Members’. Please have another look at these before you come on the walk.
