The walk takes in part of the Via Regia or Royal Highway that connected Histon to Aldreth causeway which was the only land connection from Cambridge to the Isle of Ely until the 18th century.
There is pavement walking in parts of Girton and Histon though walk could be muddy in parts.

Wednesday B Morning walks are moderate speed – 3 m.p.h. on good terrain.
Start at 10:00. There will be a 10 minute drinks stop part way.
As no lunch is involved it is not necessary to phone leader – just turn up.
