Hadstock to Saffron Walden

Hadstock Village Hall Car Park, Walden Road, Hadstock, CB21 4NX

Directions from Cambridge would be South out on the A1307 via Wandlebury to Linton, turning right near the end of the village onto B1052 towards Saffron Walden signpost to Linton Zoo! Hadstock church is about 1.5 km from Linton.  Drive to triangle opposite pub and turn right directed to church and village hall car park.  Park in Hadstock Village Hall Car Park near St. Botolph’s Church.

We will head to Great Chesterford then Little Chesterford & Springwell before walking south to Saffron Walden.  Bring sandwiches.  Unfortunately the pub in Saffron Walden I was going to use has just been shut (two weeks ago !). There is a Saffron Walden Football Club nearby & they have kindly agreed to allow us to use the BAR facilities for drinks but would not allow consumption of our own food as they serve a Carvery Sundays. There is a Recreation ground nearby where we can eat first . They also informed me that there is a BIG Charity walk from Saffron Walden on Sunday so we need to be careful not to get caught up with that !

Walking is mainly on tracks but some paths are ploughed up & may be muddy .  We walk back via Butlers Farm, Sadlers Farm, Mitchells & Bowsers coming back to Hadstock. It is a very pleasant walk, with little road walking, & good views.
