Wednesday B Morning walk – Barrington

November 28, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Wednesday B Morning walk – Barrington – 7 miles

A 7 mile circular walk starting from the Village Hall car park in Barrington (address is 63 High St, Barrington, Cambridgeshire, post code CB22 7QX). Please park at the back of the car park and as far into the left corner (away from the Hall) as possible. Barrington is off the A10, about half way between Cambridge and Royston. The village hall is on the main road through Barrington, same side as and near to The Royal Oak pub (which is recommended for any Lunchers). Donations of £1 per car would be appreciated as we have to make a gesture for use of the car park.

The walk will be mainly rural with a little bit of village walking. It will inevitably be muddy. We will be doing the traditional ‘riverside walk’ which roughly skirts Meldreth, Orwell, and the Barrington cement quarry (where major ground works are now underway for a new Redrow housing development….this by the way is a last (nostalgic?) chance to see the cement works chimney as it is coming down in December). There is a slight hill at one point.

Leader: Elizabeth  01223 872543  mobile on-the-day 07866 167726

Start at 10:00. There will be a 10 minute drinks stop part way.
As no lunch is involved it is not necessary to phone leader – just turn up.
