7.7 mile circular walk from Buckden Marina to Paxton Pits Nature Reserve Open countryside, farms, woods, wetlands, gravel conveyor, bird life, river. No styles to climb or ploughed fields to cross. Picnic lunch, indoors.

Meet: Buckden Marina, Mill Road, Buckden, Cambridgeshire, PE19 5BH
Park in the marina car park (turn right as you enter the marina for the corner of the car park closest to where we’ll be departing from, or elsewhere as space allows).

AM: a 4.0 mile walk through open countryside and woodland with a coffee/comfort stop en route as we head SW and then S making our way to Paxton Pits Nature Reserve. There may be the odd puddle.

Lunch: at the visitor centre (indoor and outdoor tables) where the volunteer staff are happy for us to consume our own picnics
PM: a 3.7 mile walk from the Nature Reserve and then following part of the Ouse Valley Way as we make our way N along the W bank of the Great Ouse back to the Marina.
