Start time: 10.15

Walk length: 6.5 miles (approximately 5 miles before lunch and 1.5 miles afterwards)

Walk details: There are no stiles on the walk, but there is some road walking involved.

When walking on a road, we need to walk in single file on the right (facing on-coming traffic). There is one junction where particular care must be taken when crossing the road.

Meeting place and parking: Park in Church Lane, Balsham – next to Church of the Holy Trinity CB21 4DS. There is a large parking area adjacent to the church.

Directions: From Cambridge, take Cherry Hinton Road, which becomes  Fulbourn Road when you reach the Robin Hood pub. At the  roundabout take the second exit towards Fulbourn. Continue  along Cambridge Road towards Fulbourn. Coming into  Fulbourn, turn right then left on to Dogget Lane. Stay on  Dogget Lane until it becomes Balsham Road by the White  Hart. Continue along Balsham Road crossing over the A11.

After 5 miles, you come into Balsham, continue along the High Street and turn left into Church Lane (by a small triangular green). Follow Church lane round to a parking area by the church.

Lunch arrangements: Lunch is at the Chestnut Tree, 1 Mill Road, West Wratting, Cambs CB21 5LT. Pub menu is shown below.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside. There is an outside area at the rear of the pub where dogs can be secured.

Your own food may be eaten outside the pub, but you must buy a drink.
