Wednesday A walk Tuddenham St Mary
October 27, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Start of walk: Cricket Sports Pavilion car park at Tuddenham, near Newmarket. Nearest postcode: IP28 6SD, Grid Ref: TL738 715 (click map) with a donation of £2 per car for the Tuddenham Playing Field Charity.
NB Sat Navs will probably direct you to a right turn off the A11 towards Tuddenham about 1km before you reach the Barton Mills roundabout. In heavy traffic you (and I certainly I) may feel more comfortable continuing on to the roundabout and returning along the A11 for 200m to another turn-off to Tuddenham. With either route, on approaching Tuddenham turn left at The Green and in 300m look for the Playing Field sign.
Car parking: See above
Mileage: 12.5 (7.5 + 5)
Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch and all other refreshments for the day. (NB I do not intend to pass the Visitor Centre).
Leader’s name and mobile number: David’s mobile number is 07485 409179
General walk information: Mainly dry and easy-going walk across the sands and gravels of the floodplain of a formerly much larger River Lark now partly converted into Nature Reserves. Route: Tuddenham – Cavenham – Lackford – West Stow – Icklingham – Cavenham Heath Nature Reserve.
Additional requirements:
