Wednesday A walk Paxton Pits

Start of walk and car parking: Paxton Pits Nature Reserve Visitors’ Centre, High Street, Little Paxton, St Neots, PE19 6ET. There is ample parking space.
Mileage: 11 (6.5+4.5) The route is slightly shorter than usual in view of the damp conditions underfoot caused by recent flooding.
Lunch: Please bring all refreshments for the day as no pub is available on this route.

General information about the walk: We follow the Ouse Valley way north through the Paxton Pits Bird Reserve to Buckden Marina and finally to Diddington Village Church for lunch. Diddington is the smallest village in Cambridgeshire with a population of circa 50. The afternoon walk is south through the gravel works and water park lakes. Be prepared for some mud!
