The walk will start from the Fox and Duck pub in Therfield. N.B. This is a change from the printed programme.

We can use the pub car park as the pub has ceased trading. (Hopefully it will re-open at some point in the future.) Please use the pub car park rather than the narrow lanes around the green. It would be good to share cars where possible as the lanes are narrow and parking limited.

 To get there: at the western end of the Royston by-pass turn sharp left off the A505 behind the Little Chef. Turn right up the hill to Therfield. In the village go straight on at the crossroads and you will come to the green.

The walk is 7 miles in the morning and 4.5 in the afternoon. Lunch at Heath Bar and Cafe on Therfield Heath. http://www.roystonheath.co.uk/cafe-bar/cafe-bar-menu/ There are seats outside for picnics.

Anyone wanting a shorter walk could park as above, walk from the pub and back and drive down to the Heath Bar for lunch. This would be 4.5 miles and would avoid the hills but not the mud, which may be considerable in places. A stick could help, particularly if there has been recent rain.
