Park at St Mary’s Church, Main Street, Hardwick. Grid reference: TL 372 586. (Nearby postcode CB23 7QS.) We have permission to park under the trees betweeen the church and the track that runs alongside. N.B. the parking area at the end of the track near the portacabin will be used by the mother and tots group that morning. Donation £1 per car.

From Cambridge/M11 take the A603 Barton Road towards Sandy. Just after the M11 (J12) turn right on the B1046 SP to Comberton, Barton, Toft. Continue to Toft and immediately turn right for Hardwick. Continue to Main Street, Hardwick. The church is on the left shortly after the Blue Lion pub.

If coming from the north, turn into Hardwick (Cambridge Road)  from St Neots Road. Go through the centre of the village and continue on Main Street. The church is on the right.

Description: This circular walk from Hardwick shows how the blue bridge over the A428 connects villages south and north of the road. The morning (6.2 miles) follows the Wimpole Way from Hardwick to Coton, then passes through the 800 Wood and the village of Madingley to arrive at Dry Drayton for lunch. In the afternoon (6.7 miles), we progress from Dry Drayton to Childerley, finally looping back to cross the blue bridge, the grand finale that delivers us back into Hardwick.
