Meet in Linton Road, Great Abington fairly close to the post office/general store on the corner with the High Street at CB21 6AB.

From Cambridge, pass Addenbrookes’ and follow the A1307 towards the A11. At the big roundabout follow signs to Haverhill. Take the second turning right at Great Abington into the High Street. Follow this road round to the left, across the river Granta, and at the post office on the left, turn left into Linton Road. Park wherever you can.

The walk takes us across the A1307 through water meadows to Hildersham and then along to Little Linton. We cross back over the A1307, through the large grain store and up a track to the ridgeway, which on a clear day has magnificent views of Cambridge and even Ely. We then descend through the former Resettlement Association Estate to Great Abington. Distance 4.5 miles.
