Meet at Church of St Leonard’s car park, Old warden, grid ref TL 136 443 at 1015. Parking is free but there is a donation box on the fence by the church entrance. To allow time for people to visit the Church by the car park, the walk will actually start at 1025.

Directions. Take A428 to St Neots then the A1 South. After 5 miles on approaching Biggleswade, turn right at the roundabout onto the B658. After about a mile go straight across the next roundabout, Old Warden is about 2 miles further on. The car park is on the right, at the bottom of church lane, signposted “Parish Church”.

The walk distance is 7.5 miles, 4 miles in the morning and 3.5 miles in the afternoon.

Lunch is at the Crown, Northill. Orders taken at the start of the walk. Dogs allowed only in the bar area. For those bringing their own food, there is seating next to the pub by the village pond.

Sights of interest: The churches at Old Warden and Northill. Queen Anne’s summerhouse and keeper’s Cottage in the Old Warden estate. Shuttleworth airfield. Also try and spot the “disguised mobile phone masks” towards the end of the walk.
