Wednesday B Morning Walks: Magog Down or Wicken/Soham

General walk information:

BAM walks are between 5 ½ and 6 ½ miles and walked at a pace of about 3 miles/hr. We begin at 10.00 prompt (unless otherwise stated) and usually finish between 12.30-1.00 pm. There are two walks available each week. Please let the leader know you are coming by sending them a text (or call). We hope the number of walkers will be 12 or less and at the leader’s discretion. We do not stop for lunch but there is normally a short break for a drink etc.

Remember that you need to send a text to let the leader know you intend join the walk.

Walk A: Magog Down

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: Magog car park, Haverhill Rd, Stapleford, Cambridge CB22 3AE. The parking fee is £3 see Magog Down, the woods, flora and fauna – (magogtrust.org.uk) for more details. The walk is over the down towards Wandlebury country park.

Walk B: Wicken to Soham

Start of walk: 10.00 am

Car parking: At the National Trust Car park. Load Lane, Wicken Cb75XP. Turn Off A1123 (Stretham Road) at Wicken following signs to Wicken Fen. Parking £3 for non-members.

Please note these additional requirements:

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.

Please text the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of the text! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted. The maximum number of people allowed on any walk is 30.

No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
