Wednesday B morning walk – Six Mile Bottom 6.5 miles

January 20, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Wednesday B morning walk – Six Mile Bottom 6.5 miles

Parking is by the roadside just off the old A11 to the South West of Six Mile Bottom on the Weston Colville Road at TL 5732 5626.

At the Six Mile Bottom crossroads, take the road marked ‘London Stansted (M11)’. After crossing the railway line, proceed a further quarter mile and turn left (signed Weston Colville and West Wratting). Park along this 300 yard section of road. For further details, see:

The walk will take us across to Six Mile Bottom and past a rather unusual Anglican church. A wooded section then follows, passing alongside the Cambridge to Newmarket railway. From there, a quiet road takes us up to Wesley Bottom. It is unlikely that we will see any traffic on this mile and a half section. The next couple of miles will also be via a road way. There may be some minor traffic on this, but the road-side verges are quite rambler friendly, and there should be good views at times to the West as far as Wyton. The final section, all downhill, leaves the roadway just beyond the Woodland cemetery and is mix of wooded and open-field paths.
