Wednesday B Morning walk – Milton, Cambridge North station and the City centre – 6 miles

NOTE change of venue

This is a variation on the Milton P&R linear walk culminating in Wetherspoons in Cambridge city centre, returning by bus to the Park and Ride car park (now free).

Meeting at the P&R information centre, the walk crosses the A14 via the nearby footbridge, immediately turning south to skirt the edge of Milton village along a wooded path to back of Tesco’s. From here, the walk enters a side entrance to the country park. This is traversed around its perimeter, ending at the foot/cycle bridge over the A14, which we take. Passing the St John’s Innovation centre, the walk eventually arrives at the new Cambridge North railway station. A short footpath section then leads to the river tow-path, which is followed down to the Green dragon bridge, which is crossed. Staying by the river’s edge, but now on the east side, the walk continues to Midsummer common and the city centre. For those not dining at Wetherspoons, there are several points towards the city centre where a P&R bus can be caught back to the car park.

Wednesday B Morning walks are moderate speed – 3 m.p.h. on good terrain.
Start at 10:00. There will be a 10 minute drinks stop part way.
As no lunch is involved it is not necessary to phone leader – just turn up.
