Wednesday B morning walk Devil’s Dyke

Start of walk – From the Quy roundabout follow the A1303 for ~5 miles until you reach the ‘Racehorse Statue’ roundabout, about 2miles SW of Newmarket. Take the first exit, signed ‘July Racecourse’, and follow the drive towards the end (~200 yards).

Parking – Park along the edge of the drive (Grid Ref 619 614)

General Info – The route follows four miles of the southern section of Devil’s Dyke from Newmarket racecourse to Woodditton and then returns towards the Fens across gently undulating chalk farmlands on the edge of the Newmarket Ridge.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than 6 people, as approved by the Ramblers (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with contact details. Please text or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of your text! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted. The maximum number of people allowed on this walk is 8.
No one should come on the walk if you feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidelines members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
