King’s Forest and West Stow Country Park  Wednesday B Walk

Parking will be in the Forestry Commission car park on the edge of the forest, at GR TL815715, Post code IP28 6HA
 
The easiest approach from Cambridge is to follow the A14 round Newmarket and then take the A11 to the Barton Mills roundabout at Mildenhall.   Here turn R onto the A1101 sp Bury St Edmunds (4th exit).   Go through Icklingham and after about 2 miles, fork Lt towards West Stow, (brown sign for the Anglo Saxon Village).  2 miles further on turn L down a lane just by the West Stow village sign and a Forestry Commission marker post with 205 on it.  The Car Park is on the L about 1/4 mile down the lane.  
A varied walk through the forest and along by the River Lark.  Two stiles.
Lunch stop at the West Stow Country Park cafe – soup, toasties etc available.   Coffee and soft drinks.   Loos.   Picnic tables outside for sandwiches.
