Approx 8 mile walk mainly on cycle and footpaths but some road walking on very minor roads. Some gentle inclines with no stiles. A walk offering lovely views of Fenland country side and across the expanse of water that is Grafham. Approx. two thirds of the walk completed before lunch which can be taken at The Wheatsheaf public house in Perry. Those wishing to picnic can do so at Mander Park (Anglian water facility that is lakeside) where toilet facilities are available.

Menu at The Wheatsheaf is varied and includes sandwiches with salad and crisps from £4.95 to £5.95. Jacket potatoes with salad from £6.95 to £7.95 and soup with fresh bread rolls for £4.95, also other starters from £5.95 and a full menu. Orders will be taken at the pub, on the day (no pre order necessary).

Parking.

Public car parking is available at Marlow Park (PE28 0BH) and costs £3.50 for the day. Suggest parking near to visitor centre for start of walk.

Getting there.

From Cambridge I suggest Madingley Road toward Hardwick and A428 towards Bedford. At Caxton Gibbet roundabout take (A1198) to Papworth and follow bypass to far end of village, at roundabout take first exit staying on A1198 towards Humtingdon. Take first left (Barnfield Raod) and follow into the village of Graveley. Follow this road through village into Offord D’Arcy, at mini roundabout take second exit to Offrord Cluny. Follow through village over mini roundabouts, take left turn (Station Lane) signposted Buckden and follow (through some tight bends by the old mill) and past Buckden Marina. At T junction take left turn onto Buckden High Street and follow through to roundabout on A1. Take second exit (B661) toward Grafham Water and follow through and out of Buckden. Taken second right turn signposted Grafham Water. Take second left turn into Marlow Park visitor centre (Anglian Water).
