Debden walk. Approx. 7 miles covering around two thirds before lunch at the Coach and Horses pub in Newport. Parking is at the 13th century village church, this is usually open well worth a look either at start or conclusion of the walk. Route is mainly on footpath and or farm tracks including through woodland. Some road walking and a few stiles to climb. Walk is through some wonderful countryside with expansive views across arable land and down onto neighbouring villages.

Food at Coach and Horses is available with sandwiches with salad and chips at £7.50 and ciabatta for £8.50. Soup along with starter menu will also be available. Packed lunches can be consumed in pub garden but please purchase a drink from the bar.

From south of Cambridge. From A505 and Sawston bypass or M11 Duxford exit. McDonalds roundabout take A1301 exit to Saffron Walden. Keep on A1301over two roundabouts. At third roundabout take B184 still to Saffron Walden, follow straight through Saffron Walden (rarely busy) past War memorial on left. Take first exit at mini roundabout onto B1052 (Debden Road and follow this into Debden. As you enter the village you will see the village shop on left, take right turn just past shop into Church Lane. Follow lane to church. Parking on grass at the side of the road. Please do not park in front of gates into church.
