Travel out to Balsham – probably via Fulbourn but other ways are possible. Assuming arrival at the western end of High Street follow road, straight in an easterly direction and uphill, until – as the road bends to the right – an area of grass with a building that looks rather like a bandstand is ahead. Turn left and proceed with the ‘bandstand’ on the right and a brick wall on the left. Go left down the narrow lane and a short distance ahead will be the Church with a large car parking area to the left. Park quite close together and with consideration as local people may have needs too. Lunch break at the Crown Inn in Linton (menu may be seen on the internet – ‘sandwiches’ menu includes sandwiches from £5.00, baked potatoes from £5.50, soup £5.00 – there is also a ‘lunch’ menu). We have been given permission to eat our own sandwiches on the patio at the back. Dogs must be kept on the patio (not go into the Crown Inn). The morning part of the walk is longer than the afternoon and some of it is downhill, some of the afternoon part of the walk is uphill.
