The route is through some wet areas and through some standing crops of oil seed rape which is now in flower should anyone have allergies, suitable footwear should be worn.

Lunch can be had at The Three Hills public house, Bartlow who will offer a reduced menu to us on the day, for those not wishing to eat at the pub refreshments can be consumed in the area of the three hills, a Roman burial ground. The Three Hills pub has recently been redeveloped and offers food more akin to a la carte than regular pub grub, prices are a little higher but portions are large.

From Cambridge follow A1307 past Addenbrookes Hospital towards Haverhill. Once through Linton and after following long sweeping bend to left take right turn towards Castel Camps, junction is just before the dual carriage way. Follow this road into Bartlow, on entering Bartlow take right turn at cross roads towards Ashdon, keep on this road through the village of Ashdon, Fallowden car park is on right after passing village museum on the left.
