Walk length: 7 miles

Walk details: Morning 3.5 miles and afternoon 3.5 miles, afternoon can be shortened if necessary. There is some road walking along quiet roads but most of the walk is in the Sandringham Estate along well walked tracks, there are no stiles. There are some ups and downs within the park and a small area that may be muddy but it is possible to climb round it.

Meet: Wolferton, Norfolk, Postcode PE31 6HA.

Directions from Cambridge to Wolferton:

From Cambridge take the A10 to King’s Lynn, at the Hardwick roundabout follow signs for A149 Cromer, Hunstanton and Sandringham. At the next three roundabouts keep straight on heading for Hunstanton on the A149. After the last roundabout, in about 4 miles, Wolferton is signposted to the left, take this left turn and follow this road through to the crossroads, carry straight on to Wolferton, PE31 6HA.

Numbers: No restriction on numbers walking

Lunch arrangements: Lunch can be purchased from The Terrace Takeaway Café at the Sandringham Visitor Centre. As a guide there is a selection of well filled sandwiches at £4.50, sausage rolls/vegan sausage rolls, bacon rolls, cheese twists, various cakes, scones, cream tea in a box, cheese scones, along with hot and cold drinks and an ice cream kiosk. There is outdoor seating available.

Picnic: Alternatively you can bring your own picnic lunch, there is plenty of outdoor seating.

Dogs: Dogs are welcome.

Toilets: Toilets are available at the visitor centre.

Point of interest: We are hoping that the rhododendrons and azaleas will be in bloom along the walk.
