Start time: 10.15

Walk length: The walk is approx 4.5 miles before lunch, 2.5 miles after lunch.

Walk details: Sections of the walk will be muddy, and one or two paths may be overgrown. No stiles, but steep bridges.

Meeting place and parking: Meet at the National Trust car park at Wicken Fen, CB7 5XP. If you are a member of the National Trust please bring your membership card so you can scan cards for free parking. Alternatively, you can pay for parking. If you prefer you can park on North Street in Wicken, where there is a small amount of parking at the side of the road, just east of the turning into Lode Lane where the NT car park is, and walk down to join the group.

Directions: Take the A10 north from Cambridge. At Stretham, follow signs to A1123 in the direction of Wicken Fen. In Wicken village turn right to National Trust Wicken Fen car park and visitors’ centre.

Lunch arrangements: Lunch at Five Miles from Anywhere No Hurry Inn, Upware.
The pub insist they don’t take orders in advance for lunch, and frequently cater to walking groups. The service was very quick when the leader tried it recently. The menu is here: https://www.fivemilesinn.com and it might be worth checking it out if you’re coming on the walk so that you have an idea of what you want to order on arrival.

Dogs welcome in the garden on leads but not in the pub.

If you are bringing a picnic, there are benches near the bridge overlooking the water as we arrive at Upware.
