Start time: 10.30 (note later start time)

Walk length: Around 6.5 miles in total (Approx 3.5 miles before lunch. Approx 3 miles after lunch.)

Walk details: A nice walk in an agricultural area on the Cambs/Suffolk border. Given the time of year the vegetation on some of the paths is quite luxuriant. If wet, boots and waterproof trousers are recommended. There is also some road walking. There are no stiles.

Meeting point and parking:  At West Wickham Village Hall (TL 616495, CB21 4SB). Park in front of the hall. There will be a parking charge of £2 per car to provide a donation to the village hall.

Directions from Cambridge: Take A1307 via Abington and Linton. Just before reaching Horseheath, turn left on to Dean Road and follow this for 2 miles until you reach a T-junction. Turn right and follow the road for 0.7 mile. Just after passing the church on your left, turn left into High Street. The village hall will be on your left after c. 0.3 mile.

Note – there are extensive roadworks on the A1307 between Linton and Haverhill, with a 30 mph speed limit in places and possibly traffic lights. Please allow extra time on your journey.
