Wednesday B All-day walk – Trumpington, Newnham and Grantchester

Start time: 10.15
Walk length: 6.5 to 7 miles
Walk details: Trumpington – along Vicar’s Brook to Newnham – across the meadows to Grantchester – via Byron’s Pool and Trumpington Meadows back to our start point.
Directions and parking: Park at Trumpington Park and Ride. Free parking. Postcode CB2 9FT.
Meeting place: By the main building near the waiting room. Toilets are in the same block.
Group size: No limit on number of walkers
Lunch arrangements: At The Orchard Tea Garden in Grantchester. Menu attached. Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more, so when booking a place on the walk, please let us know whether you intend to eat at The Orchard. Dogs are allowed in the Rupert Brooke Room and the garden.
If pre-ordering is required, we will get back to you. The Orchard is closed until 18 February for staff holidays, so we are unable to check before then.
There are benches in the village and the churchyard for those bringing a picnic.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by Ramblers UK (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.
Please email or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of any message! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted.
No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
