Wednesday B All-day walk – Swaffham Bulbeck and Lode circular
December 22, 2021 @ 10:45 am - 3:00 pm
Start time: Please note later start time at 10:45
Walk length and details: It is a 7 mile circular walk, with approximately 5 miles in the morning and 2 after lunch. No stiles. Some areas can get wet and muddy, although there are stretches which are really good underfoot. There is one ploughed field but we have an alternative route if it is particularly wet and claggy.
Meeting point and parking: Small car park immediately to the left on entering Swaffham Bulbeck (from Cambridge direction), just after the 30 mph sign, under a height restrictor arch. (easily missed).
Directions from Cambridge: Head along the B1102 from the A14, past Anglesey Abbey to Swaffham Bulbeck. Postcode for car park is CB25 0HP
Lunch arrangements: Booked for 13:00 at The Shed in Lode. (See attached menu). If you want to eat at The Shed please order your food when you book your place on the walk. Dogs are allowed inside but there are seats and tables outside, where The Shed is happy for you to eat food ordered from them, provided someone goes inside to collect it.
In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by Ramblers UK (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.
Please email or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of any message! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted.
No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
More details related to taking part in and leading Club walks in a Covid-19 environment are posted on the CRC website, under ‘Members’. Please have another look at these before you come on the walk.
