Wednesday B All-Day walk – Sturmer Figure of 8

July 3 @ 10:15 am - 2:30 pm

Start time: 10.15

Walk length: This is a figure of eight walk consisting of approximately 5.5 miles in the morning and 1.5 miles in the afternoon.

Walk details: There are no stiles and unless we have a lot of rain it won’t be muddy. There is some wispy grass so I suggest long trousers. The footpaths are easily seen though and it’s not hard walking through the grass as it’s not that long.

A lovely part of the Suffolk and Essex countryside but I’m biased as I come from around there.

Because this is a figure of eight walk please feel free to do just the morning if you want to.

Meeting place and parking: Sturmer Garden Centre, Church Walk, Sturmer, CB9 7XD. Please park in the top car park.

Directions: If travelling from the Cambridge direction on the A1307, you come to the outskirts of Haverhill and the roundabout with the iron frame in the middle. Bear right onto the bypass here (A1017) don’t go left for Haverhill. Go over the next four roundabouts then the 5th roundabout turn right into Sturmer, after less than a quarter of a mile you come to Sturmer Garden Centre/Nurseries on your right. Six roundabouts in all.

Go through the gate and go through the first car park and through the next gate to the top car park.

Lunch arrangements: Lunch will be at the cafe in the garden centre. We don’t need to order food beforehand but the cafe do want to know the number of people by Monday (1 July) the latest

People who don’t want to eat in the garden centre,  can sit in their cars for their lunch so no need to take your food round with you. No dogs are allowed in the cafe.

Leaders: Sue and Barry

Booking:. Please let Sue know if you will have lunch at the cafe no later than Sunday evening (30 June) by emailing her at sueinover@ntlworld.com. Sue would like to know if you intend to walk even if you are not coming in the cafe for lunch.
