Wednesday B All-day walk -Stapleford and Babraham
November 8 @ 10:15 am - 3:00 pm
Start time: 10.15
Walk length: 7 miles in total (Morning is 5 miles. 2 miles after lunch)
Walk details: The walk is from Stapleford to Babraham via The Gogs and Wandlebury. Paths may be quite muddy but no muddy fields!
Meeting place and parking: Meet at Stapleford Granary, Bury Road, Stapleford CB22 5BP.
Parking – Linda has managed to secure an arrangement to park in the overflow car park at The Granary but if there isn’t enough room or restricted because of the mud, please park on the road, but not too close to the bend.
Directions: Please note – Access to Stapleford village along Haverhill Road is restricted at present. If using the A1307, turn on to Hinton Way from the roundabout near the golf club. Follow Hinton Way for approx. 1 mile and turn left down Mingle Lane before the railway crossing. Bear left onto Gog Magog Way just after the church and follow the road keeping left. The road turns right and slightly uphill. Continue to T-junction then turn right and continue down towards bend at the end of Haverhill Road. Stapleford Granary is on the left. Alternatively, if using the A1301, turn onto Bury Road by The Rose pub. Ignore all the Road Closed signs and continue along Bury Road, then turn into Stapleford Granary on your right as you reach the bend leading to Haverhill Road.
Lunch arrangements: Lunch is at The George in Babraham. There is a small plate option as well as sandwiches etc. Please look at the menus on the website – thegeorgeinnbabraham.co.uk
Dogs are allowed in the bar area only at The George so please tell the leaders if you are bringing a dog.
For anyone not wishing to eat in the pub, there is a bench opposite and others by the river and church. The leaders will provide directions on the day.
Leaders: Linda, Linda and Mary
Booking: If you plan to walk, please let Linda Segust know by Sunday evening (5 November) and include your lunch choice if you plan to eat at The George (mentioning a dog if you are bringing one). Email – linda.segust@gmail.com
