Start time: 10.30 (please note later start time than usual)

Walk length: The distance is approx 7.5 miles – 4.25 in the morning, and 3.25 after lunch.

Walk details: Walk from Little Thetford along the River Great Ouse on the Fen Rivers Way to Ely and return. Precise return route dependent on weather. There may be some mud, and two stiles.

Meeting place and parking: Park at Little Thetford, which is just off the A10 about 14 miles north of Cambridge. Drive through the village for about 0.5 mile and park where there is a large green area on the right. Postcode CB6 3HB. (If you reach the level crossing, you have gone a bit too far, but there is room to turn round).

Directions from Cambridge: Take A10 north out of the city towards Ely. Continue for c. 10.5 miles after crossing the A14 near Milton, passing through Stretham, before taking a right-hand turn into Little Thetford. As noted above, continue for approx. 0.5 mile through the village until you see a large green area on the right.

Lunch arrangements: Lunch will be at The Prince Albert in Silver Street, Ely. Dogs are welcome. The menu is attached. (Type of soup to be confirmed nearer the date.)
There are benches in nearby Barton Square for those bringing a picnic.
