Start time: 10.30 (Note – later start time)

Walk length: 8.5 miles (Approximately 4.5 miles before lunch)

Walk details: Good paths, generally level apart from a gentle climb up to the hill between Barrington and Haslingfield. Care will need to be taken when we drop down the steep incline into Haslingfield along Chapel Hill. This can be a fast road with no footpath. Single file please!

Meeting place and parking: Car Park at Badcock Recreation Ground, High St, Haslingfield CB 23 1JP (at Harston end of the High St)

Directions from Cambridge:

a) Via A10, turn right at Harston onto Church St, at Button End keep on the Haslingfield Road, follow this to the village and onto the High St. The Recreation Ground is on your right-hand side near the start of the village. Turn Right into New Road and the car park is immediately on your right.

b) Via A603, turn left shortly after Barton and follow the Haslingfield Road (later called Barton Road) onto the High St. At the other end of the village turn left on to New Road for the Recreation Car Park on your righthand side. (Note: On 7 June, Google Maps shows this road closed at Frog End just before Haslingfield. Please check before coming this way.)

Lunch arrangements: Pub lunch at The Royal Oak, Barrington. Dogs are welcome. Light bites and sandwich menu attached.

If you are eating at the pub, please could you let me have your food order by Friday evening 8pm 16 June and whether you wish to bring a dog into the pub. The pub has requested that we confirm numbers and food orders by Saturday 17 June at the latest.

For picnickers – there are plenty of benches on the village green – a good spot is by the cricket pavilion opposite the pub. If you are coming but bringing your own picnic, can you still let Christine know. Many thanks
