Start time: 10.15

Walk length: Approximately 8.5 miles

Walk details: 5 miles in the morning with a further 3.5 miles after lunch at The Bridge, Clayhithe.  We plan to walk along the Fen River Way on the West bank of the River Cam to Clayhithe via Baits Bite Lock to the pub. Return on the East side of the Cam via Horningsea.

It’s a completely level walk and no stiles but somewhat muddy on the East side of the Cam. Good and generally dry path on the West bank.

Meeting place and parking: High St, Fen Ditton CB5 8ST, opposite junction with Church Street and the church (St Mary the Virgin)

Directions: From Cambridge:  Take A1303 (Newmarket Road) then B1047 (Ditton Lane). Turn left down High Street, signposted to Fen Ditton.

Lunch arrangements: At The Bridge in Clayhithe. The pub cannot offer pre- order choices as they say supplies are a bit erratic in January so cannot guarantee availability. You can order on the day. Photos of the lunch menu are attached to give an idea of what should be on offer.  They do however need to know how many people will be having lunch.

There is a bench by the river near the pub for those who want to have a picnic.

Booking: Please contact Christine by Sunday evening, 15 January,  if you are joining the walk, whether you are eating in the pub and if you wish to bring a dog into the pub. The pub want to know how many dogs to expect so they can book a table in the dog friendly seating area.
