Wednesday B All-Day walk – Devil’s Dyke and Swaffham Prior

Group size: Maximum of 8

General information: Walk along the Devil’s Dyke (Ditch) to Reach, then circuiting back via Swaffham Prior. 7 miles, am 4½, pm 2½. Start 10.15. Coffee stop in Reach. Lunch stop in Swaffham Prior. The Red Lion in Swaffham Prior opens at 12.00 and has a garden area if we wish to stop there. Otherwise, sandwiches can be eaten nearby.

Parking: Take the B1102 from Swaffham Prior towards Burwell. Just after the point where the road intersects the dyke, take the right turn signposted P Devil’s Dyke.

Please bring masks and hand sanitiser, and give me a paper with your name and contact details, which will be retained for 21 days in accordance with requirements.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by Ramblers UK (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.

Please email or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of any message! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted.

No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill.  Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households.  In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
