Wednesday B All-Day walk – Croydon and Arrington

Walk length: Approx. 8 miles (with option for shorter 6.8 miles walk)
Meeting point: All Saints Church, Church Lane, Croydon SG8 0DL
Group size: Maximum 15
Walk location: The walk starts adjacent to Croydon church, down to Wendy, across A1198 to Wimpole Avenue and thence to Arrington for lunch (5 miles). Afternoon: Arrington to Croydon via Clopton Way (3 miles) or shortcut to cars (1.8 miles)
Please note: There is a short stretch of road walking along the A1198, which tends to be busy. There are two stiles on the morning walk but none in the afternoon.
Directions from Cambridge: Take A603 from Cambridge to roundabout at A1198. Take third exit through Arrington along Ermine Way and turn left to Croydon, as signposted. At monument, turn right up Church Lane. Park in field diagonally opposite church, by kind arrangement with Gill’s brother. £1 donation per car will be collected
Lunch arrangements: to be confirmed but likely to be a picnic.

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by Ramblers UK (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.
Please email, text or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of any message! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted.
No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill. Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households. In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.
