Wednesday B All-day walk – Belchamp St Paul and Clare

October 20, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Walk length: 7.5 mile circular walk from Belchamp St. Paul to Clare Country Park and back.  Please note that the terrain is undulating and there are a few stiles.  Views are lovely.
Meeting place: on village green opposite the Half Moon Pub.  Postcode CO10 7DP
Directions from Cambridge:  A1307 through Linton towards Haverhill, follow A1017 around Haverhill, take the left turn on to A1092 heading for Clare.  Just as you reach Clare, take a right-hand turn (signposted to Belchamp St Paul), after 0.25 mile, turn left and follow road for a further 3 2 miles to Belchamp St Paul.
Parking: Please park responsibly in the roads near the green but not on the verge.  There is plenty of space.
Group size: No upper limit but pre-booking is still required.
Lunch arrangements:  Lunch will be in Clare Country Park, where there is a public toilet.  We suggest you bring a picnic but consider buying a hot drink and possibly a cake from Platform 1 Cafe.  They do sell other basic lunch items and do have some indoor seating but not for a very large group.  (Further details about contingency plans if it is raining will be provided nearer the time).
Leaders:  Geoff and Sue
Booking:  Please email Geoff on geoffhale53@gmail.com or Sue on sue41knowles@gmail.com or ring 07751 483715/07928 312678 by midday on Monday 18th.
Please note these additional requirements:

In line with the requirements for group walks of more than six people, as approved by Ramblers UK (the national body for walking), everyone coming on the walk must provide the leader with their contact details.

Please email or phone the leader if you plan to come. Please remember to give your name as part of any message! Your details will be held for 21 days for Covid-19 ‘test and trace’ purposes, then deleted.

No one should come on the walk if they feel even slightly ill.  Please make sure that you bring with you a face covering, hand sanitiser and any walking poles you need; no equipment or refreshments can be shared beyond households.  In line with government guidance, members are asked to observe ‘social distancing’ on the walk.

More details related to taking part in and leading Club walks in a Covid-19 environment are posted on the CRC website, under ‘Members’.  Please have another look at these before you come on the walk.
