Wednesday B All-day group – Daffodil walk, Thriplow

March 14 @ 10:15 am - 2:30 pm

Note: This is an additional walk to the usual programme and is on Thursday 14 March, arranged to see the daffodils in Thriplow.

Start time: 10.15

Walk length: Approximately 6½ miles

Walk details: The walk starts in Fowlmere and heads towards and around Thriplow. Morning is 5 miles along quiet roads, permissive paths and tracks. One boggy patch, no stiles. A short afternoon mainly on pavements along a quiet road.

Meeting place and parking: Please park in Fowlmere and meet at St Mary’s parish church in the High Street SG8 7SU

Directions: You can get to Fowlmere by taking the A10 to Harston and then a left turn on to B1368 (London Road) to Newton and continue on to Fowlmere. Alternatively, you can travel down the M11, take the A505 (Junction 10) past the Imperial War Museum, then a right turn to Thriplow (also signposted to the recycling centre). In Thriplow, turn left and follow road to Fowlmere.

Lunch arrangements: Lunch at the ‘ Green Man’ in Thriplow. Dogs welcome. Menus attached.
There are nearby places to picnic and the small but well stocked shop will be open .

Additional information: Thriplow has a book bank opposite the pub. The village hall (close to the pub) is serving teas that afternoon from 2:30 – 4pm if anyone wishes to call in after the walk.
