Start of walk:  Front of ‘The Wheatsheaf’, West Perry, PE28 0BX.  [NB the pub and its car park will not be open].

Parking:  In the first instance along the side of Crow Spinney Lane adjacent to the water tower (PE28 0SS). Please park considerately and as tightly as possible. This is the first turn on the left as you drive into Perry, just before the pub.

Mileage: 13.0 miles (7.5 + 5.5) Figure of eight

Lunch: Lunch will be at the ‘The Wheatsheaf’. Lunch orders will not be taken before the start of the walk as pub prefers to operate speedily on the hoof! Please include YES PUB in your text to the leader if you intend to eat a pub lunch (see Sample Menu). Benches near the village pond should be available if you prefer a picnic lunch.

General information about the walk: Walk is figure of eight with 7.5 miles in the morning, starting out along the lake then through woodland before circling around undulating farmland to the west of West Perry.  The afternoon is about 5 miles, initially circling eastwards along the lake then through a pleasant rural landscape via Three Shires Way. Some field crossings in the morning but otherwise it’s generally easy going underfoot.
