The walk will start 10 am from the Therfield recreation ground car park, 1 Police Row, SG8 9QG,

GR 339 369, Explorer map 194, Landranger 154.

 

A £1 per car contribution is requested towards the small sports club facilities.

 

Directions:  Travelling west around Royston along the A505, turn off left sharply back on yourself at the ‘Little Chef’ roundabout (the next after Tesco).  Take the immediate first right up the hill and continue for 2 miles into Therfield.  Keep on ahead past the village green and ‘Fox & Duck’ pub.  The recreation ground entrance is then about a further 500 yards on the left. (There’s a prominent black litter-bin marking the entrance).

 

The morning route out will be southwards via Sandon, Roe Green, and Rushden, with lunch at ‘The Bull’, Cottered,  7.5 miles approx.

The afternoon return via Mill End and Green End about 6 miles approx.

 

‘The Bull’ at Cottered offers very good food from an extensive menu ranging from main courses through starters/light lunches, jacket potatoes, burgers, ploughman’s, salads, sandwiches, and toasties.

Own food and drink away from the pub premises please!
