Wednesday A Walk from Rowney Warren 25^th May

This walk visiting three woods,  Rowney Warren, Chicksands and Maulden along the Greensand Ridge,  is 7 miles in the morning and 5 in the afternoon.

Parking: mountain bikers’ car park at the north end of Rowney Warren (not the Forestry one), at the crossroads of the A600, Standalone Warren and Northwood End Road, Haynes, Beds  MK 45 3QG.

Lunch is at the Dog and Badger.  They’ve asked us to pre-order if at all possible.  Menu: http://www.dogandbadgerbedford.co.uk/menu.php   In addition, sandwiches £4.25 and baguettes £5.25: tuna mayo, prawn marie-rose, cheddar& pickle, egg mayo, beef&horseradish, ham&mustard, also jackets, paninis, wraps.

Travel: If leaving CB by the A428, join A1 for London/Bedford A421.  At Black Cat roundabout, take A421 Bedford. Take A603 exit Sandy/Hitchin/Shefford A600.  Take A600 and continue through DEADMANS CROSS. Turn right into Northwood End Road and the car park isimmediately on your right.
