Our walk on 30 September will start from the Forest Lodge car park north of West Stow close to postcode IP28 6HA, Grid Ref TL814 714 – click here for map.

Directions: Take the A14 then A11 to the Barton Mills Roundabout. Turn right (4th exit) on the A1101 (towards Bury St Edmunds). After 4 miles turn left along minor road signed West Stow. In 1¾ miles turn left along Forestry Commission road, avoiding potholes, to car park at Forest Lodge.

Route : 14 miles [8 am + 6 pm] : A pleasant mix of forest, pastoral and riverside walking in and around the River Lark valley.
King’s Forest – Brockley Corner – Culford school – Lark Valley Path – Fornham – Culford – Lark Valley Path [following a new permissive route via the Iron Bridge to avoid the adventurous? stretch of the Lark Valley path!] – West Stow

Lunch at the the Woolpack, Fornham St Martin. Good range of food incl. soup, ciabattas (various), sandwiches (various), jacket potatoes (various), and a range of Light Bites. For those taking their own sandwiches there is a recreation ground with benches close by.
